Brancusi stated that architecture is inhabited sculpture. In order to honour and celebrate this way of thinking the New Art Centre is delighted to announce that it has collaborated with KOTO Designs Ltd to create a sculptural cabin that acts as a functional piece of fine art.

The Writing House is now viewable in the park and sits comfortably next to sculpture by Richard Deacon, Michael Craig-Martin and David Nash.

An all-timber construction, this piece of 'inhabited sculpture' is entirely carbon neutral. The blackened exterior is inspired by the ancient Japanese philosophy Wabi Sabi, a way of thinking that focuses on accepting the transient nature of life and beauty found in imperfection.
