Michael Landy's work can fluctuate from large installations and performances to painstaking drawings and collages.
Landy is perhaps best known for his artwork 'Break Down' (2001) in which he methodically catalogued and destroyed all of his possessions in a machine that he built in a former department store in Oxford Street. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Saints Alive' (2013), National Gallery, London, 'Michael Landy: Four Walls' (2013), Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, and 'Acts of Kindness' (2011), Art on the Underground, London.
Landy studied at Goldsmiths College of Art. He lives and works in London.
