Bernard Meadows

Bernard Meadows studied at the Norwich School of Art from 1934-36. In the following years he was a studio assistant to Henry Moore 1936-39, before studying at the Royal College of Art from 1938-40 and 1946-8.

He exhibited in the British Pavilion at the 1952 Venice Biennale, alongside Kenneth Armitage, Reg Butler, Lynn Chadwick and Eduardo Paolozzi

Following teaching at Chelsea School of Art for 12 years, in 1960 Meadows became the Professor of Sculpture at the Royal College of Art, a post he held for 20 years, with his pupils including artists such as Elisabeth Frink.
