Review of Matt Rugg’s Major Retrospective in The Financial Times

Matt Rugg: Early and Late Works at The New Art Centre, Roche Court Sculpture Park - November 2022 - March 2023

In September, the Hatton Gallery opened a major retrospective of Matt Rugg’s work titled ‘Matt Rugg: Connecting Form’ and has received excellent reviews in the press, including yesterday’s Financial Times. Read the review here.

Many of the works currently on display at the Hatton Gallery were also exhibited at the New Art Centre, Roche Court Sculpture Park, earlier this year. Opened by the late Dame Phyllida Barlow DBE RA, the exhibition displayed a broad range of both Rugg’s early and late works including drawings, wooden reliefs, and his towering galvanised steel hangings.
