Exchanges Performance and Showcase Event
Sunday 30 April 2017
6.30pm, Pavilion Dance South West, Bournemouth
Free, booking essential
'Exchanges' is an ongoing programme of opportunities to explore dialogue between visual art and performance which is run in partnership with Roche Court Educational Trust and Pavilion Dance South West. Students attend research days at the New Art Centre, Roche Court to look and talk about the exhibited sculpture.
These workshop days offer a stimulus to inspire new performances created by the students.
In 2017 the project explores the theme of 'Gravity', considering the processes and materials used by a variety of artists exhibited at the New Art Centre. Works used as inspiration include sculptures by Barry Flanagan, David Nash, Michael Bolus and David Annesley. The project asks all the students to consider the concepts behind the sculptures as well as form, space and shape in their performances.
We invite you to come and see these new performances in our student showcase and presentation.
