Conrad Shawcross was born in London in 1977. He studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, and gained his MFA at the Slade School of Art. He lives and works in London.
Conrad Shawcross' recent solo exhibition 'Manifold' was held at the New Art Centre, 23 May - 26 July 2015. He has exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Stacks, Folds and Interference', Tucci Russo, Torre Pellice, Italy (2016); 'Commission for Royal Academy Summer Exhibition: The Dappled Light of the Sun', Royal Academy, London (2015); 'Geometry of Mind', ARTMIA Foundation, Beijing (2014); 'Timepiece', Berwaldhallen, Stockholm, and Roundhouse, London (2014 & 2013); 'The ADA Project', Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013).
Commissions for public sculpture projects include 'The Interpretation of Movement (a 9:8 in blue)' the 2017 Terrace Wires commission at St Pancras International (2017); 'Paradigm', Francis Crick Institute (2015); 'Three Perpetual Chords', Dulwich Park (2015); and his first public commission 'Space Trumpet', Unilever Commission, Unilever House (2007) which won the Art & Work 2008 Award for a Work of Art Commissioned for a Specific Site in a Working Environment.
