Clive Barker

(1940)
Barker was born in Luton and studied at Luton College of Technology and Art from 1957. He worked with his father at Vauxhall Motors on the assembly line and this resulted in Barker realising the potential sculptural qualities of industrially finished objects, particularly in leather and chrome plated metal.

Barker works predominately in chrome, bronze and wood and is well know for his sculptural representations of Coca Cola contour bottles. He has exhibited in numerous galleries around the world and has works in permanent collections including the Tate and the National Portrait Gallery.
