(1937-) Allen Jones established himself as a controversial Pop artist during the 1960s, with his 'furniture' pieces addressing issues of gender and power. His practice also notably includes painting and steel sculptures. Allen Jones studied at Hornsey College of Art and the Royal College of Art. He has taught at art institutions extensively in the UK, USA and Germany. Jones has exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including a number of major touring retrospectives of his work. The Royal Academy hosted a major retrospective of his work, from 13 November 2014 -- 25 January 2015.
